Costa Rica: poverty headcount ratio at 3.20 U.S. dollars a day 2005-2017 Costa Rica is one of the Latin American countries showing the best measurements regarding socio-economic indicators. Poverty seems to be no exception, as it has been decreasing during the past decade. In 2017, approximately 2.7 percent of Costa Ricans were living on less than 3.20 U.S. dollars per day, down from 7.7 percent of the country's population in 2005.
