In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, thousands of Puerto Ricans migrated to neighboring Florida, where Puerto Rican student enrollment increased by 4.9 percent statewise compared to its 2015 level. In counties such as Orange or Osceola, the increase was 7.2 and 9.8 percent respectively.
