Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the number of international arrivals in Europe decreased significantly in 2021 over 2019. Overall, the Czech Republic was the European country experiencing the highest drop in inbound arrivals, with a decline of roughly 81 percent between January and September 2021 compared to 2019. Meanwhile, inbound tourist arrivals in Germany fell by nearly 71 percent between January and November 2021.
