Top inbound travel markets in winter Austria 2023

The number of international overnight stays in Austria increased in the 2022/2023 winter season over the previous year, following a sharp drop with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, Germany was the leading inbound travel market in Austria, with nearly 26 million overnight stays between November 2022 and April 2023. This figure also surpassed pre-pandemic levels. Meanwhile, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom followed on the ranking in 2022/2023, with around 6.7 million and 2.2 million overnight stays, respectively.
