The manufacturing industry consumed the highest amount of energy of around 5.8 exajoules, but still managed to reduce consumption by around 1.5 percent from the previous fiscal year. The residential sector lessened consumption by nearly eight percent mainly due to the warm winter in the year. By energy source

When it comes to energy sources, petroleum still accounted for the highest share of more than 47 percent of final energy consumption in the financial year 2018, illustrating a gradual downward trend over the years.
