Volume of waste paper collected in Italy 2019-2021, by region
The volume of wastepaper collected in the Italian region of Lombardy was over 570,000 tons in 2021. This volume represented around 16 percent of the total amount of paper collected in Italy. The first six regions for wastepaper collected are located in the Northern or Central Italy, although some of the regions with the highest resident population in Italy are in the south of the country.
The total volume of wastepaper collected in 2021 in the whole Italy exceeded the amount collected in 2020 by over 100,000 tons.
