Share of healthcare expenditure on pharmaceuticals in Italy 2007-2021
Between 2007 and 2021, the share of public and private expenditure on pharmaceuticals over total expenditure on healthcare in Italy decreased slightly overall, while maintaining a fluctuating trend. In fact, it went from 18.2 percent in 2007 to 18.0 percent in 2021. The highest recorded share was 19.2 percent in 2018, during the period under consideration.
