This statistic illustrates the value of cross-border merger and acquisition (M&A) deals worldwide from 1985 to 2022. According to data provided by the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances (IMAA) the value of cross-border M&A deals generally increased with some fluctuation during the period observed. In 1985 the value of cross-border M&A deals amounted to approximately 32 billion U.S dollars, but by 2022 this had increased to an estimated 1.05 trillion U.S dollars.
