Primary energy consumption in Peru increased by more than 60 percent within one decade. In 2019, this South American country's consumption peaked at 1.19 exajoules, up from 0.71 exajoules in 2009. However, figures decreased to one exajoule in 2020. Oil and natural gas were the main sources of energy consumed in Peru that year.
