Eni reported an operating revenue of 76.6 billion euros in 2021, up from 43.99 billion euros the previous year. Eni is an Italian oil and gas company founded in 1953 and considered one of the oil supermajors - the largest public oil and gas companies in the world. Apart from oil and gas extraction, the company is also active in the refining, chemicals manufacturing, and power generating sector, thus active in the entire oil and gas supply chain. It has also announced a commitment to investing in carbon capture and storage, renewable energy, and forest conservation projects to offset its huge emissions footprint. It derives the majority of its revenue from refining activities and petroleum product sales.
