School air pollution 2019

This statistic displays the results of a 2019 survey which asked teachers in the United Kingdom (UK) what would help bring down air pollution levels outside of their schools. 34 of teachers believed that emission levels could be reduced if more teachers, parents and pupils walked, cycled or scooted to school. 26 percent thought closing roads to cars during the school run would also have an affect on pollution levels.
Since 1990, the number of deaths in the UK attributable to air pollution has fallen significantly. However, in 2016 there were still 25,964 deaths.
