Payments Cards & Mobile. According to the source, the majority of non-cash payment transactions in 2017 were made with payment cards, amounting to over 3.8 billion transactions. The source notes that this amount showed a compound growth rate of 26 percent between 2012 and 2017. Credit transfers were ranked second with more than 2.6 billion transactions made in 2017. The lowest number of transactions is attributed to cheques with a marginal number of 0.1 million transactions. According to the source, cheques were mainly used for business-to-business payments.
