Glass Half Full as Americans Head into 2019
New Year Outlook
Americans are heading into 2019 by and large optimistic about what’s to come, according to a new poll by Survey Monkey. A little over six thousand U.S. adults were surveyed on their personal and political prospects for the year ahead. Around three-quarter of respondents reported being more hopeful than fearful about their 2019 personal life. Despite that overwhelming majority, only about half of respondents reported feeling more hopeful than fearful about what 2019 holds in store for the world at large.
When it comes to economics and politics, about two-thirds of people were optimistic that the U.S. economy was going to have a strong year. Only 43 percent of respondents predicted a good year for President Trump, roughly on-par with his approval ratings.
