Industry revenue of “graphic design services“ in the U.S. 2011-2023
Graphic design is getting increased traction in today’s digital age with applications ranging from branding to promotional items, to products and more. This trend is reflected in the steady increase in industry revenues from 7.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2013 to 9.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2017, a thirty percent growth in just three years. In fact, according to latest estimates by Statista, the industry is estimated to surpass 11 billion U.S. dollars by 2023. Unsurprisingly, Canada, another major North American market, is a lot smaller, accounting for approximately twenty percent of that of the U.S. market.

CAD revenue is on the rise

Over the last few years the graphic designing industry has been subject to major technological disruption. The commonly used CAD (computer-aided design) software has become the first stop for architects, engineers, artists, and other designers to create two-dimensional (2-D) drawings and three-dimensional (3-D) models. Therefore, it is no surprise that the global CAD market is expected to experience strong growth over the next few years, almost doubling during the period 2017-2028. 3-D design software services which accounted for around 73% of the market in 2016 are expected to maintain their dominance with a marginally increased share of around 75%.

Majority of design employees are graphic designers

The U.S. had more than five hundred thousand people employed in the designing industry , out of which around forty three percent were graphic designers in 2018.
