14.05.2019 ecommerceDB.com gets a shiny new look

Hamburg, 14.05.2019 – Extension of the international focus, new reports, and improved usability: These and many more new features have been implemented as part of the relaunch of the ecommerceDB. The tool analyzes the most important global eCommerce markets and provides, among other things, market insights regarding revenue as well as payment and shipping options for more than 10,000 online stores.

The ecommerceDB, which covers the global eCommerce market and structures it by countries and categories, recently got a major update, which does not only entail more content, stores, and key figures but also improves the site's usability. To accomplish these extensive changes and to be able to extend the database in the future as well, the team in charge of the ecommerceDB has doubled in size in the last few months.

International focus to be extended – improved usability

Currently, the ecommerceDB covers more than 10,000 online stores from 22 countries, including the U.S., Germany, and China. The latest additions to the database have been Australia and New Zealand, and more countries and regions will be added in the course of this year. The primary focus will be on Eastern Europe, Asia, and South America. In addition, individual reports on every region will be produced from now on, which will present the status quo of the respective domestic eCommerce market.

In order to further increase the usability of the database, new filtering options have been added, complementing the entirely new user interface: From now on, you can filter results not only by countries or categories but also by specialized vendors, e.g., opticians and wine merchants. Moreover, the search results can be narrowed down by defining the stores' net sales range.

Marketing KPIs to be included from the beginning of Q3 onwards

The ecommerceDB will be further extended in the coming months by incorporating relevant marketing KPIs, which will supplement the currently available key figures (e.g., revenue, annual growth, or market share). Thus, the database will also provide information on the SEA and SEO visibility of every store, its traffic rank, and page views.
