Glossary of Statistical Terms: Definition Indicator
If a person approves a certain statement, this can be interpreted as an indicator for a certain attitude. For example, if a person answers the question "Are you interested in the latest tech?" in the affirmative, we can conclude that s/he has an innovative attitude.
In order to classify people into types of users, groups, etc. usually a plurality of such indicators are used.
Please note that the definitions in our statistics encyclopedia are simplified explanations of terms. Our goal is to make the definitions accessible for a broad audience; thus it is possible that some definitions do not adhere entirely to scientific standards.
