Global new solar PV capacity forecast by select country 2022-2026

Between 2022 and 2026, it is forecast that China will be the leading country in terms of new solar PV (photovoltaic) capacity installations, with a total of 569 gigawatts on a high end scenario and 413 gigawatts on a low end scenario. The United States is expected to install 115 gigawatts of solar PV capacity by 2024 on a high end scenario. In 2021, there were 167.8 gigawatts worth of new PV capacity installed worldwide.
