Car ownership rate in Taiwan 2019, by type
The electric car penetration in Taiwan has been low as conventional cars still account for the largest share in terms of ownership. According to the survey conducted by Rakuten Insight, less than two percent of the surveyed Taiwanese car owners stated they owned an electric car while around 93 percent indicated they owned a conventional car.
