Russian regions with the highest share of middle class 2018-2019

Families were categorized as middle class when they could afford to purchase a car and an apartment corresponding to their family size, and when after paying for car and housing loans, they had no less than two subsistence minimums for each persons left for everyday expenses. The study considered the families where at least one member had a job.
The results were based on salary data from June 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019 and the salary distribution in April 2019. The study looked at salaries of full-time employees of large and middle-sized organizations. The payment of income tax was taken into account.
