Brazil: number of wildfires 2005-2021
In 2021, over 184 thousand wildfire outbreaks were identified in Brazil. This represented a more than 17 percent decrease in occurrences compared to the previous year. Nearly half of the country's forest fires that year were located in the Amazon rainforest biome.
