In 2018, the operating expense-to-income ratio of registered banks in New Zealand was 42.05 percent, a slight increase from the previous year. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand registers foreign and domestic banks that operate in New Zealand. As of April 2018, there were 26 registered banks in the country.
