According to a survey conducted in Singapore in June 2019, 39 percent of respondents who were parents who carried out corporal punishment at home agreed that physical punishment should also be allowed in schools. Until today, it is not illegal for parents to physically discipline their children in Singapore. There were 584 cases of physical abuse of children investigated in Singapore in 2018.
