Peru: foreign debt as share of GDP 2002-2018

In 2018, the public debt that Peru's central government owed to foreign creditors equaled 7.5 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP). This is the lowest share that Peru's external debt has registered at least since 2002. The South American country has the second lowest percentage of foreign debt in the region, right after Chile.
