Mexico: IPC stock market index January-October 2020

Since the novel coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) and the confirmation of the first infected patients in Mexico, the country's most important stock exchange index, S&P/BMV IPC, has plummeted. On March 23, 2020 Mexico's IPC stock market index closed at a value of 32,964 Mexican pesos, down from 45,903 pesos registered on January 20. As of October 15 2020, the stock market was still affected by the uncertainty and instability that the pandemic brought, with a value amounting to 38,059 pesos.
