In 2021, the number of registered school buses in the Indian city of Kolkata was 77. There was a substantial increase in the number of registered school buses during the observed time frame. The city government passed a circular in 2020, instructing schools to provide bus facility for their students. As of January 2020, only five schools in Kolkata had bus services.
