Annual change in auto LPG dispensing stations India FY 2008-2022
In fiscal year 2022, the change in auto liquified petroleum gas dispensing stations across India saw an increase of 84.6 percent compared to the previous year. Under the government's Ujjwala scheme to provide free and clean cooking fuel to every household, the south Asian country became the second largest consumer of LPG across the globe. The aim of the scheme was to replace traditional cooking fuels in the rural areas such as firewood and cow dung as they contribute to environmental degradation and also have adverse health effects.
