Chemical imports and exports in the European Union 2021, by segment
The European Union (EU-27) exported more than 198 billion euros worth of chemicals in 2021. Specialty chemicals was the segment with the highest export value that year, at around 62 billion euros. Meanwhile, the largest contributor to the EU's chemical imports was petrochemicals, at over 59 billion euros.
