Share of Americans who think elected officials abuse their power, by party 2019
In a 2019 survey, 33 percent of Democrats thought that a sizable minority of elected officials break the law or abusive their powers of office in the United States. On the other hand, only eight percent of Independents thought that just a few elected officials abused their powers.
