Number of Japanese residents in Vietnam 2013-2022
As of October 2022, approximately 21.8 thousand Japanese residents were registered in Vietnam. The Japanese population in the country almost doubled since 2013, with the highest number being reported in 2020 with more than 23.4 thousand residents.
The statistic, which is based on the information gathered by Japanese diplomatic missions abroad, does not include descendants of Japanese emigrants (nikkeijin) who do not hold Japanese citizenship. People with multiple citizenship are counted.
