Number of Japanese residents in Sweden 2014-2023
As of October 2023, approximately 4.59 thousand Japanese residents lived in Sweden, the second highest amount of the decade. The Japanese population in Sweden has been growing steadily throughout the observed time frame, with 2020 being the only year in which a slight decrease was reported.
The statistic, which is based on the information gathered by Japanese diplomatic missions abroad, does not include descendants of Japanese emigrants (nikkeijin) who do not hold Japanese citizenship. People with multiple citizenship are counted.
