The total number of Japanese residents living in Israel and the Gaza Strip as of October 2018 amounted to approximately 1.14 thousand people. The population increased by almost 200 people since 2013.
The statistic, which is based on the information gathered by Japanese diplomatic missions abroad, does not include descendants of Japanese emigrants (nikkeijin) who do not hold Japanese citizenship. People with multiple citizenship are counted.
