Number of Japanese residents in the United Kingdom 2013-2021

As of October 2021, more than 63.6 thousand Japanese residents lived in the United Kingdom. Numbers peaked in 2015 at about 68 thousand residents and have decreased since then until 2018 when the lowest number of the observed time frame, about 60.6 thousand residents, was reported.
The statistic, which is based on the information gathered by Japanese diplomatic missions abroad, does not include descendants of Japanese emigrants (nikkeijin) who do not hold Japanese citizenship. People with multiple citizenship are counted.
