U.S. number of shale oil and gas M&A deals by shale play 2019
In the Permian Basin, located in the southwestern region of the United States, there were 23 shale oil and gas mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in 2019. Accordingly, this shale formation had the largest number of M&A deals of any U.S. shale play. The total value of those 23 M&A deals amounted to 78.2 billion U.S. dollars.
