
Awareness levels for various cancer risk factors in Great Britain in 2019
As of 2019, over 76 percent of British people surveyed believed that using tobacco products (e.g. smoking cigarettes, chewing tobacco) increases a person's risk of developing cancer, although slightly less respondents thought that exposure to tobacco smoke was a cancer risk. Almost 69 percent of respondents also thought that exposing their skin to harmful UV rays would increase the risk of developing cancer.
