* The CWE region is made up of five countries: France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. On June 6, 2007, an agreement was signed by the governments, regulators, electricity transmission system operators, energy exchanges and electrical associations of these five countries in the Central European region. -West (CWE) with the objective of improving security of supply and encouraging the analysis, development and implementation of flow-based market coupling. The flow-based market coupling model increases price convergence in West Central Europe while ensuring the same level of security of supply as today.
