Digital forgery incidents reported in India 2022, by leading state
With about 55 cases registered with the authorities, the northern state of Uttar Pradesh in India had the highest number of digital forgery cases compared to the rest of the country in 2022. That same year, there were around 224 cases of digital forgery recorded across the country. This category of crime came under the purview of Sections 465, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code.
