In 2017, unintentional injuries caused 5.17 percent of total deaths in Vietnam. In that year, the leading non-communicable disease were cardiovascular diseases, causing 33.18 percent of total deaths while respiratory infections and tuberculosis were the leading fatal communicable diseases in Vietnam, causing 5.9 percent of all deaths in the country.
