In 2019, biomass was the leading source of primary energy in Uruguay, accounting for more than 40 percent of the country's supply. Oil and its products represented a share of 36 percent. Meanwhile, other renewable sources – including hydroelectricity, wind, and solar – contributed with 22 percent of Uruguay's primary energy supply.
