Irregular employee skill shortages among business enterprises Japan 2014-2023

According to a survey conducted in January 2023 among business enterprises in Japan, about 31 percent of companies reported a lack of non-regular employees. Similar to the labor shortage of regular full-time employees, the demand for irregular employees strongly increased between 2011 and 2019, with a sudden drop 2020 and 2021, before recovering in 2022.
