Europe's avoided fatalities from low pollution due to COVID-19 by country 2020

Since the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown, there has been a noticeable reduction in the amount of nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter emissions throughout Europe. During April 2020, the decrease in emissions is estimated to have helped to avoid thousands of deaths across Europe, with Germany avoiding over 2,000 deaths due to reduced air pollution.
