Global coal power generation year-on-year change due to COVID-19 lockdowns by country
The generation of electricity from coal was severely impacted in some of the countries most affected by the global pandemic caused by the disease COVID-19. During the lockdown period comprised between March and April 18, 2020, coal power generation in the United States (in the PJM interconnection region) decreased by 40 percent, compared to the same period one year before.
