Between 2021 and 2022, coal power generation increased in most G20 countries. During the 2022 energy crisis, natural gas prices boomed and the use of coal for electricity generation increased. However, the production of electricity from wind and solar plants increased in all the G20 countries, especially in the European Union, China, and the United States.
