Europe: share of over 65 year olds receiving an influenza vaccination 2018

Approximately 73 percent of individuals aged over 65 years of age in the United Kingdom received a vaccination against influenza in 2017 which is the highest share in Europe. Across the European Union, around 44 percent of all over 65 year old's received the influenza vaccination. Those aged over 65 are more at risk of developing complications from flu, such as pneumonia, and therefore it is important for this group of people to be vaccinated.
