Data on the commuting population in Italy in 2019 show that people living in smaller municipalities commuted for a longer time than those living in large cities. More specifically, 19 percent of people coming from municipalities of up to two thousand inhabitants used to commute for more than 15 minutes. On the other hand, 11.8 percent of individuals from large municipalities (more than 50 thousand inhabitants) had long commuting time.
