Number of people employed in trade in South Africa Q1 2020, by region
In the first quarter of 2020, approximately 1.02 million South Africans residing in Gauteng were working in the trade industry, marking a year-on-year change of minus 47 thousand people employed. The states of KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape also displayed high numbers of people employed within the industry, at 585 thousand and 483 thousand, respectively.
