U.S. micro-mobility: number of systems 2017-2022
The number of dockless bike-share systems in the U.S. witnessed a sharp decline in 2020 caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, after peaking at 81 in 2018. Nevertheless, dockless bikes have been returning to U.S. American cities in the past couple of years, amounting to 45 systems as of July 2022.
E-scooters systems only got slightly affected by the pandemic, with a decrease in the number of systems of around 3.6 in 2020. The number of e-scooter systems in the U.S. reached 300 in July 2022.
