Evolution of consumer point of sale preferences following COVID-19 in France 2020
At the beginning of 2020 and the coronavirus induced lockdown measures in France, the source had asked a sample of the French population, which were their preferred channels for buying groceries during the first week of April and after the confinement. While 75 percent of people shopped in big supermarket chains during the confinement, the value dropped by seven percent after it was suspended. In terms of online orders, food platforms that deliver fresh products such as Maisoncolom.fr or Rungizchezvous.com, had about one percent preference share, share which was equal to zero percent after the confinement. Thus, people were increasingly interested in buying food on a market and specialized supermarkets for fresh products.
