Latin America: leading botnets in organizations 2020

In the first half of 2020, Mirai was the most prevalent botnet among organizations in Latin America, with 78 percent of them detecting it. Mirai is a self-propagating botnet virus that turns infected devices into a network of remotely controlled bots. Gh0st RAT, a trojan remote access tool, ranked second, detected by nearly 61 percent of organizations in the region.
