As of 2020, the duration of compulsory education in Morocco was nine years. This had been the same since 2001, which had recorded additional three years compared to the preceding years. Overall, although Moroccan children from age six to fifteen are obliged to undergo free and compulsory education, there are no public institutions for children under the age of six as these institutions are managed by private entities under the supervision of the country's Ministry of Education.
