Leading car leasing companies in the Netherlands 2021-2022
Volkswagen Pon Financial Services was the largest car lease company in the Netherlands in June 2022, when comparing the size of their fleet against that of other companies. Over 191,000 of LeasePlan's cars were to be found on the Dutch roads during that period, a higher number than in the year before. Although it did not have the biggest fleet size, LeasePlan set itself apart from its main competitors by being independent of car brands, whereas the Volkswagen Pon and Athlon were owned or sponsored by Volkswagen and Daimler (Mercedes-Benz), respectively. In general, the car lease market in the Netherlands grew in recent years.
